About
Author & Certified Meditation Facilitator
Kathleen Welton is an award-winning writer whose work celebrates the beauty of beaches, birds, and wildlife through stories where dreams take flight. Her work has been recognized by the Mom’s Choice Awards Honoring Excellence, the NYC Big Book Awards, and the Purple Dragonfly Awards. Having served in high-level leadership roles at organizations including Dow Jones-Irwin, IDG Books, and the American Bar Association, Kathleen has successfully traded the boardroom for the beach to return to her first loves: the written word and the natural world.
She earned a BA in both English and Italian Literature at Stanford University, as well as a Feature Film Writing Certificate at UCLA Extension. As a Certified Meditation Instructor (Gaja Collective and Transformation Academy), she integrates the principles of presence and peace into both her life and her prose. She is currently working on I Am That Books—a series of picture books inspired by her cats and her meditation practice. She is the curator of World Cat Month (coming October 2026). Her mission is to share So Hum—a contemplative experience about serenity and simplicity.
